Emergency Plan for Digital Communications with out Internet or WL2K.

What do I do??

I can't get Winlink to send a message or I do not have WL2K installed!

All I have is Winpack, a TNC, and a radio.

Don't worry.  We have a backup plan.  If you can  not send an email, you can connect to the EOC directly and send us a text message!

N1FL-3 will receive files using Yapp.  Here is how.

Create a text file with the message you wish to send.  Remember to save it where you can find it.  I suggest c:\ not the desktop.

Please use this standard format for the file name.  TOCALLdeFMCALLmsg#.txt   ex. C:\N1FLdeK1KWGmsg002.TXT

Example of Radiogram message.

Part I

First turn on Auto Receive

Then Edit your Personal Info

Then make sure your callsign is -3

Part II

Connect to N1FL-3  using command  c N1FL-3

Select Yapp then Send file

Select the text file you wish to send.  Message to the EOC should be called N1FLdeMYCALL_msg#.txt

    example N1FLdeK1KWGmsg001.txt

The next three slides will occur automatically.

Don't forget to disconnect.  Get the command prompt (usually Ctrl+c) and type D

If this is an urgent message and you do not get an conformation in five minutes please contact the EOC on voice.

If you wish to try it before there is an emergency you can give it a try using K1KWG-3.  If you can connect send me and email and I will forward the message back to you.  k1kwg@winlink.org
